Find Out More About What Philippine Ladies Think About Different Relationship Superstitions

Even in this modern world that we are living, with all the gadgets and other advancements in science and technology, there are still some people who like to believe in deep-rooted traditions and local superstitions. Some people in the Philippines, particularly the elders, still believe in all these stories and things that other people created. Some Philippine ladies - especially those who are already thinking of settling down, or have a serious relationship - also consider some of these superstitions and follow them stringently.

Some male foreigners who have Filipina girlfriends sometimes have difficulty understanding all these traditional beliefs and superstitions. Though some ideas are also practiced in other countries, but there are a lot of beliefs that are only found and practiced in the Philippines.

Some Philippine ladies believe that if they have older female siblings then they have to let them marry first or at least have boyfriends first. Filipinos believe that if the younger siblings get hitched first then there is no chance for the older siblings to find their husbands or tie the knot anymore. And most people look at this not just as a mere superstition but it is also a kind of respect to the older members of the family.

Some of the superstitions and rituals that Filipinos believe are also carried out in other countries just like when a single woman catches a bouquet in a wedding, this only means one thing and it means she is getting married next or soon. There are also a lot of wedding practices that the Filipinos share with the rest of the world, the slicing of the cake, the first dance, and other pre-wedding and post-wedding rituals. One that is very common is not to allow the groom see his bride wearing the wedding gown before the wedding.

Another superstition that Filipinos follow is that those who are still single never sit at the head of the table during meals or they will never marry. This is a very old Filipino superstition.

Some people would find these practices unreasonable and outrageous. They just do not see the logic behind all these practices. But why are there still so many people who are following and doing all these traditions and superstitions? A lot of people would say, especially those Philippine ladies, that there is actually nothing wrong if they follow some of these superstitions and old practices. There is no harm done and there is technically nothing wrong with it. For some they treat it as something that is interesting to do and nothing else.

Some Filipinos, particularly the women, also believe in card reading and palmistry. And it is actually not hard to find one if you want to know about your future and other questions that you have about the past. These are also traditions that are put into practice in other countries.

Philippine ladies whether they believe in all of these traditional practices and rituals or not, they are one in saying that, they are just doing all these for the sake of tradition. Again as long as there is no harm done, then why not preserve such customs and traditions?
