The Untold Stories Behind Every Untruth Told About Filipino Women

Most people would like to believe that we now live in a world where prejudice is nonexistent. But, it is very unfortunate to know that sometimes acts of discrimination are still present in other countries. Filipino women, sad to say, are sometimes victims of unfair treatment and some wrongful accusations.

Men from other countries are sometimes discouraged to find love in the Philippines because of the hearsays that go around that Filipinas sell their love especially to foreigners. Filipinas find this allegation very insulting and something that is certainly untrue.

Filipinas do not place a price tag on love. Filipina women are known all over the world for being very loyal and faithful to the one they love. The Philippines, just like other countries in the world, is facing a very big problem right now, economically. And because of this impending problem some people are forced to do things beyond their will just to place food on the table, support the family and have a decent life. But all of these are not enough for Filipinas to give up their sense of self.

Another issue that most Filipinas are tormented on is the issue of their perceived self esteem. This came up because of the kinds of job that some Filipino women have in other countries. Jobs like being a nanny, housekeeper, domestic helper or other blue collar jobs.

Filipinas though, do not look at these kinds of jobs as lowly or jobs that would cause them embarrassment. For them these jobs are honest and upright, and there is nothing to be ashamed about these occupations. Filipinas will do everything to support their family and provide their kids with food, education and other necessities in life. They do not care if they need to sacrifice a lot as long as it is for the family and what they are doing is legal and nothing detrimental or harmful to anybody.

Some men from other countries also get disheartened when they hear news about women in the Philippines being social climbers. These are just generalizations. Most people, because they look at the Philippines as a poor and unfortunate country, have this preconceived notion and immediately label the people as social climbers or opportunists.

Women in the Philippines sometimes go to great lengths just to prove their worth and put an end to all these issues and controversies surrounding them. But sometimes people are too judgmental and insensitive. Though there are still a good number of people who still believe in the beauty of the Filipinas and believe in the indomitable spirit of the Filipino people, cases of prejudice and discrimination still live on. There are just some people who turn a blind eye on these issues and ignore that these things are still happening.

Filipino women have been into a lot of trials and hardships in life. They have been strengthened by time that no matter what controversies or doubts that other people have on them, they will never back down and instead, they will raise above all these and remain strong and be proud to be a Filipina.
